The Chrome Web Store

I've always been a fan of Firefox personally. But in recent times, Google Chrome seems to be trying its very best (and in most cases succeeding) to impress me. The primary advantage I found in chrome is its speed.. and when i say speed, i mean the "loading" speed which in case of firefox is around 10 secs on my pc.. chrome takes 2 to 3 secs. I always took the side of firefox by saying "my firefox has many addons, so it takes time to initialize" (which is also somewhat true i guess).. But the other day, i found something called chrome web store.

It was released in the first week of december (last year.. in case you lost track of time :P), but i didn't bother much because when i saw web "store", i thought it was just another place where they sell apps .. in this case..for your browser and there was even a time when i thought it was insane.. like.. seriously?... who'd "buy" an app for his browser (And i think i still stand on that opinion). But i soon discovered chrome web store also offers free apps for your browser, which i think and hope are more than the paid ones.

So now its just like an android marketplace, only difference being .. you need not impress your dad this time to buy you an android phone as you can just walk home, turn on your PC and use it on your very own (free!!) Google Chrome.

I din't explore the whole store yet.. but i already liked couple of apps on it... one is the MathBoard . Its both Free and Paid .. the free version gives you only the addition thing, you can buy it if you want the whole package. But i still find it lame.. paying $3.99 for a Math board. But i liked the free version for its look.

Another interesting and free app is the Feedly App .

70% of the apps i've tried so far mostly redirected to a website and few (like mathboard) had a custom interface .. and it reminds me, there are also some games.. familiar ones liek mafia wars, farmville, fishville, .. ville :P ... if are one of the "social games" fan, you can check these out.

It also (obviously) gives you the power to create you own apps. (You'd need to know a bit of coding). But one thing that shocked me when i tried to create an app was that i had to register with $5.00 to publish my apps :P. But, once registered you can publish as many apps as you want for free.:P
